Outdoor Classroom Day
We enjoyed celebrating Outdoor Classroom Day in Nursery (a little earlier than the official date due to half term).
We had great fun learning about Autumn. We read the story of Clifford and the Big Leaf Pile and then went to the garden to make our very own leaf pile. We found all different coloured leaves and they were all different shapes and sizes. Just like Clifford, after singing our Autumn Leaf song we counted 1,2,3 and JUMPED IN!! We found out that the leaves felt soft to jump into and were crunchy, crackly and crispy.
Toasting marshmallows around the campfire for snack proved to be a great success. We could see how the mallows melted over the heat and enjoyed eating them afterwards. Learning about fire safety around the campfire was very important to keep us all safe.
We finished our outdoor classroom day off with some games and activities. Playing some parachute games made us laugh and giggle a lot... it was great fun. We squeezed in our daily mile and listened carefully to a story about the Scarecrow Who Didn't Scare.
We had a great day enjoying the outdoors and were tired after what was a very busy day.
